This week has been seriously crazy but in the same respect, it’s been seriously amazing too. I’m still trying to find the groove of things when it comes to the new apartment (in case no one has told you, living with two roommates is hard) but things are getting easier. Which I hope means things around here will get back to being consistent again. I miss chatting with y’all, that’s why I wanted to catch you up on what I’ve been loving lately including my go to monthly playlist.
This one’s a bit out of the norm but it’s my absolute favorite obsession (and it is an obsession) so I had to talk about it first. In case you haven’t heard of it, My Favorite Murder is a comedy podcast all about, well, murder. It’s hosted by the kickass Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark who bring a brilliant mix of California girl comedy to the grisly world of true crime. If you’re a fan of shows like Forensic Files or Making a Murder then you need to listen to My Favorite Murder. I’ve ran through 26 episodes in like three days, it’s that good!
Girls on HBO
Where has this show been all my life? Scratch that, I know, it’s been on HBO and being the broke college
girl grad that I am, HBO has alluded me until recently. My roomie and I went in on an HBO Now subscription so we could start Game of Thrones and while that has become an obsession all on it’s own; it’s Marnie, Hannah, Jessa, and Soshanna that have really stolen my heart. I’m not going to give much away here in case you’re like me and have lived under a rock for the last six years but I’m almost finished with season 2 now and would just like to say, as embarrassing as it is, I am Soshanna, Soshanna is me. That’s all.
Anyone else spend hours online staring at overly expensive designer bags you can only dream of owning? Or is that just me? In the case of the Chloe Drew bag, I take it a step further and sometimes go into Nordstrom just to touch them. I’ve spent way too much valuable time just daydreaming of the Drew bags lately so when I stumbled across a knockoff at Target (on clearance no less) I had to snag it. $14.99 >>> $1,800 ALWAYS
“You had me at bourbon.” That’s what I said to the sweet Sephora sales girl who introduced me to the latest fragrance from Elizabeth and James (aka Mary Kate and Ashley’s high end brand). I ended up snagging the rollerball version because I just couldn’t walk away from the rich, warm scent. Plus, a Kentucky girl can’t say no to bourbon, it’s like an unspoken law or something.
Caramel Apple Milky Way
If you follow me on Snapchat (which you totally should be doing seeing as I’m trying my damnedest to be better at it…@angelmerisa23) then you may have seen my grocery store discovery of these little gems. They taste so much like an actual caramel apple that I am in full blown fall mode and it’s still 95 degrees on the daily. For that I will forgive because they are just so darn delicious.
Now it’s time for the musical portion of today’s lesson…my monthly playlist. I’m particularly loving the new Hey Violet EP and pretty much anything from the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Check it out here.
