My Mother’s Day Gift Guide

My Mother's Day Gift Guide on Monogrammed Magnolias

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8th this year. That’s less than 2 weeks away. Whoa. That really snuck up on me. No worries though, there’s plenty of time to pick out the perfect gift for your momma. To get the ball rolling, I’ve picked more than a few pieces that I know my mom would absolutely love and maybe your mom will to. You can shop these picks directly by clicking the item photo or the link in the description. While you’re at it, let me know your favorite in the comments!

Throw Pillow – I could definitely see this little pillow being a cute reminder of how awesome Mom is every time she sits in her chair.

FitBit – Mom is always going, going, going so she’d probably get a real kick out of seeing just how far all that going is getting her.

Pearl Necklace – When it comes to gifts, Dogeared jewelry has you covered no matter the occasion.

Tory Burch Rollerball Set – This just screams “Happy Mother’s Day!’ to me! Plus, it’s always nice to try out fragrances in small amounts when giving as a gift as scent is so personal.

Quay Sunglasses – Just like me, Mom is a sunglasses junkie so it only seems fitting to feed the frenzy right?

MAC Lipstick – Everyone should have a MAC lipstick in their collection, it’s as simple as that.

Trinket Tray – This makes me laugh and reminds me of the SNL ladies and their infamous mom jeans skit. Too fun!

Ralph Lauren Robe – Mom deserves the luxury of nice robe. It’ll make everyday feel like a spa day.

Sugarfina Champagne Bears – Speaking of luxury…give Mom some champagne gummies to snack on!

Kate Spade Studs – These are just so classic, perfect for Mom!

Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers

Hello, Magnolias.

Can you believe Christmas is only two weeks away? The clock is really ticking down. It’s time to get all the little things in a row and that includes the little gifts, aka Stocking Stuffers. I’ve put together this Gift Guide for Stocking Stuffers perfect for any girl in your life and the best part is they’re all $20 and under!

Urban Outfitters Marble iPhone 6/6s case – There’s just something about marble that seems so luxe, even in plastic form. I’m betting any iPhone user would love to find this case in their stocking this year.

Pinch Provisions Minimergency Kit – I have strong opinions when it come to Pinch Provision kits, one of them being that every girl needs one.  They’re just so handy, I’ve had mine for years and still carry it everywhere I go. I love how customizable they’ve gotten over the years. If you head over to their website you can even get a kit with custom charms from The College Prepster. Everything from classic glasses, pineapples, whales, oh my.

Kate Spade Eat Cake for Breakfast Tumbler – I see this tumbler everywhere and that only makes me want it more because it is too cute. What girl wouldn’t want to see this in her stocking?

Kate Spade Treat Yourself Reusable Shopping Bag – In the same aspect, I don’t see this bag enough. It folds up so small and you can make the argument that purchasing this bag will help save the planet as it can be used instead of paper or plastic bags at the grocery store! Win, win!

Drybar Lil Lemon Drop Travel Detangler Brush – I love mini hairbrushes! I think it comes from those little pop-out brush compacts I used to carry around in middle school but this little travel detangler brush from Drybar seems like a major upgrade from that. Any fan of smooth hair would be lucky to find this Lil Lemon Drop hanging by the fireplace this Christmas.

Delfonics Quitterie Cardcase – A cardcase just seems so grown-up and sophisticated to me. This Delfonics case from Urban Outfitters makes the luxe case fun again with bright hues from turquoise to lilac, you can’t go wrong with this little gift.

Formula X Studded X: Mini lip + nail polish – I am a HUGE Kat Von D makeup fan so when I heard she was pairing up with Sephora’s Formula X I had to get my hands on a polish but then I found this adorable kit that pairs a polish with matching mini Studded Kiss Lipstick. At just $15, it’s a perfect pairing for the beauty junkie in your life.

Sephora Collection Face Mask – What girl doesn’t love a good face mask? I love the variety of masks available from the Sephora Collection as well as their reasonable price tag. These are small but pack a big punch, the perfect stocking stuffer if you ask me. Be sure to check out my review of this mask here.

Lilly Pulitzer Key Fob – For the Lilly Lover in your life. Perfect for a newly licensed little sister, cousin off to college, or even your mom.

What treats are you hoping to find in your stocking this year? Let me know in the comments.

Gift Guide: For Her

Hello, Magnolias.

It’s officially Gift Guide season! I’m particularly excited about this one considering that everything on it is promptly going onto my own wish list. This gift guide is full of equal parts fun & practical for every girl in your life from your best friend from junior high, your little sister, your sorority sister, your mother, your Aunt Sue, even your office neighbor.

  1. Southern Proper All Prep Vest – This vest just seems so dreamy & cozy that I couldn’t help but put it at the top of my gift guide. Reversible from cream colored fleece with a plaid pocket to quilted navy, this vest is perfect for the girl who loves options. Let’s face it, what girl doesn’t? That’s not even the best part though…a secret shot pouch and removable bottle opener in the pocket means this vest is ready for anything from camping to tailgating!
  2. Formula X Bottle Service Set – I imagine this gift being perfect for gift exchanges. From the sorority sister down the hall to the office secretary, what girl doesn’t love mini nail polishes? Even better when they’re mini Formula X polishes featuring everything from a shimmering red to a patent leather black, you really can’t go wrong. Top it off with possibly the cutest packaging ever and you have a gift that will be the talk of the party.
  3. Kate Spade Wooland Critters Intarsia Hat – I really can’t explain it but I LOVE this beanie! There’s just something about a jewel eyed fox peeking out of a hat that calls to my inner fashion maven.
  4. Kate Spade Micro Stripe Slim Battery Bank – The perfect gift for any iPhone user in your life because we all know that battery drain struggle. With this portable charger she’ll never have to deal with the annoying guy on the train again just because her getaway plan decided to die on the way home.
  5. Tory Burch York Key Case – There’s just something about a key case that seems so chic and sophisticated to me. No more fighting with the treacherous tangle of car keys, earbuds, and the 15 lipsticks at the bottom of her bag. Just pull out the key case, flip out the desired key, and voila. Every girl deserves that level of graceful.
  6. “Smiling Heart” Pillow – A combination of two of my favorite things, emojis and throw pillows. I’m willing to bet there’s a girl on your gift list who is with me on that. This cotton pillow would be the cutest addition to your best friend’s apartment or your cousin’s dorm room. Heck, I’d probably even gift this to my mom just to see it on the living room couch!
  7. ‘Yay!’ Stemless Wine Glass – Gold rimmed, confetti covered, exclaiming wine glasses? I’m all about that life! Pair this cutie with your BFF’s favorite vino for a gift that keeps on giving.
  8. Marley Lilly Monogrammed Tassel Bracelet – I cannot say enough how much I love this bracelet! First of all, it’s monogrammed! You can’t get more thoughtful or personal than a monogrammed gift. This particular piece has the classic look of a charm bracelet but gets an upgrade with double interlocking links and a trendy tassel element. One of my favorite parts is the 1 inch extender, so you never have to worry about the bracelet being too big or too small. Also, it comes in over 15 tassel color choices as well as the option of either silver or gold hardware. A great option for your sister, bestie, or even your mom!

Got a Gift Guide request? Someone in your life you find particularly hard to buy for? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll try to help! It is the season of giving after all.

November Wish List

Hello, Magnolias.

I know I’m not the only one feeling the money crunch right now. It’s just that time of year. We’re saving up money for the holidays, going out of town, and getting gifts for others but in the midst of that madness are incredible sales and sparkly gift sets that can just make a girl weak in the knees. So while I’m sitting here counting down the hours left in the Sephora VIB Sale and temporarily putting a preventative freeze on my bank account, I thought I’d combat the urge to spend out by compiling a therapeutic Wish List!

Numero uno on the list isn’t even available yet, typical. The palette is a collaboration with Gwen Stefani, Urban Decay’s first ever collab, and will be available on November 22. Photo courtesy by @karisbrelsford on Instagram.

Kate Spade Cedar  Street Maise in Mulled Wine

This bag has been everywhere this year…so of course it’s at the top of my wish list.

Marc Jacobs Decadence

A perfume, shaped like a purse. Yes, please! Haha This isn’t a perfume I could see myself wearing everyday as it’s very rich and, well, decadent but that’s what wish lists are for.

Smashbox #ShapeMatters Palette

What girl couldn’t use a full face palette? The #ShapeMatters palette includes eye shadows, contour, blush, and highlight shades, as well as brow powders & wax! Talk about full service.

Draper  James Totes Y’all Vanderbilt Tote

This bag just popped back in stock and considering I’ve had my eye on it since before Draper James was even released online, it was bound to appear on this list.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien

My go-to lip color is quickly dwindling away but that $26 price tag is quite the bullet to bite.

Everpurse x Kate Spade Phone Charging Wristlet

As you can probably tell from #2 on this list, I’m always down for a good Kate Spade bag but throw in the fact that this particular one will actually charge your phone and I’m the first in line…figuratively speaking of course.

What’s on your wish list this month? Let me know in the comments and be sure to follow me through my social media links below (including Snapchat: @angelmerisa23).

DIY To-Do List

Happy Sunday Funday, Magnolias!

Is it just me or are Sundays really better once Spring has sprung? I love waking up to the sun filtering through my curtains and my puppy yawning by my side. I’ve really been on a role today too. I started my morning with some lemon and honey, morning yoga (you’ve got to check out Yoga with Adriene!), then brunch with my family. In the spirit of taking it easy today, I was flipping swiping through Pinterest when I realized there were so many DIY crafts I wanted to get to this Spring. In fact, there were so many that I compiled a list and thought I would share some of my absolute favorites with you. The way I see it, sharing them gets y’all involved but also holds me accountable so I don’t let time slip away. Haha

ABM Tabletop Tic Tac Toe DIY || The girls over at A Beautiful Mess are always doing such creative and fun DIYs but this little tic tac toe board really caught my eye. How cute would this look on the coffee table in my future apartment? Looks super easy to recreate and customize too.

Etsy Blog Geode Crystals || I have been fascinated by geodes since I was a little girl and I love that they’re so on trend right now. I think this DIY will take me right back to elementary school science class!

Shore Society DIY Kate Spade Inspired Glitter Studs || This is one of those DIYs that I’m kicking myself for not already thinking of. I have tons of these over sized earrings floating around, why not glitterize them instead of paying for the same thing from a big name brand?

Kentucky Lilly Pulitzer Jewelry Holder || I’m a true blue Kentucky girl so this Lilly Pulitzer inspired state cutout jewelry holder just screams, “Make me! Make me!” I think it would make a great key holder or purse organizer depending on the type of hooks you use.

Dream a Little Bigger DIY Door Mat || Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m planning on moving into my own apartment at the end of this summer so a custom DIY door mat is perfect. I love that you can really make it your own with whatever message you wish, even though “Hey Y’all” works just fine for me!

Let me know if you’re planning any DIY projects soon! Hopefully I’ll be updating y’all on these projects very soon.

Have a great day and thanks for reading!

Wish List Wednesday

I’m in a bit of a financial slump at the moment. Student loans are piling up, my savings for an apartment are getting low, you know the deal. #BrokeCollegeGrad

My self administered therapy of filling up online shopping carts but never checking out is just not working anymore so I thought I would channel all my retail energies here.

I thought I’d take you on a tour of my online wishlist.

Kendra Scott

When it comes to Kendra Scott I want ALL the earrings. More specifically, all of the Ellen Drop Earrings but I’d be satisfied with these rose gold ones.

I’m also sorta obsessed with these Dani Earrings in Aqua Kyocera Opal. Side note: why are both of these earrings over over $100 (over $300 for the Ellen Drops)? That just seems crazy. Those better be real diamonds.

My favorite perfume would cost $115 a bottle, typical. I’m just not about that life right now but one day I hope to own a big bottle of Flowerbomb instead of those dinky rollerballs.

Some of my favorite tutorials on YouTube use NARS Sheer Glow Foundation as the base so of course it’s on my wish list.  How could it not be?

Have you seen the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows? They’re gah-or-geous! They’re also $29 a pop so the obvious choice for me is the Narsissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette featuring 6 of the shadows. At $79 it’s a way better deal than buying the shadows individually but unfortunately it’s still a bit out of reach for me.

Kate Spade

Ugh, Kate Spade, you kill me! I want it all but a handbag will do. Maybe the Chelsea Square Hayden in Geranium?

Tory Burch

Do y’all think Tory Burch flats are always in my wish lists? I do.

These Caroline Ballet Flats are killer.

Oh, let’s not forget the Reva Perforated Ballet Flats

BaubleBar is like my ultimate weakness. It’s all just so pretty!

Like this Showgirl Fringe Crystal Strand

and this Deco Diamond Bib.

I think that may have helped a bit. I still want all that pretty stuff but at least I have a place to look at it all together for now.

Leave a comment below letting me know one of your wish list picks.

until next time, Magnolias.
